The businesses in the group

Compare portfolio priorities, expansion proposals and digital investment against the funding and management resources they require.

  • Corporate strategy

Compare the businesses in a group and their competing calls on capital.

  • Growth and market entry

Assess customer demand, distribution options and the resources needed to enter a market.

  • Digital strategy

Assess digital investments against operating needs, data readiness and ongoing costs.

How responsibilities are divided

Define the roles and shared services each business needs, including their cost and the authority managers require.

Authority and oversight

Set out who can decide, what requires approval and how the board receives information about the business.

  • Governance and risk

Connect group and operating-company mandates, approval limits and risk reporting.

Board mandates
and executive decisions.

A group decision can change the funding, services and duties of several operating companies. We connect the mandates involved with the commitments each business will carry.

Governance and risk

Board and management

We examine how parent and operating-company mandates interact, including reserved matters, committee duties and delegated authority.

Center and operating companies

For shared services, we establish what the center provides and charges for, and what each business still handles itself.

Capital priorities

Investment comparisons show commitments already made, further funding needed and demands on people shared across the group.

Company information

The request depends on the work. For a portfolio assessment, we need business-unit financials and investment proposals. Governance work draws on ownership documents, board mandates and delegated authority. For operating-model work, we examine processes, reporting lines and service responsibilities.

Working arrangements

People involved

The client identifies who will supply information and review drafts. We also agree access to any board members, executives or functional managers needed for the assignment.

Management retains its decision authority. If implementation support is included, the scope records what Namaa will do and what the client will carry out.
